The GTX from Michigan based coachbuilders Devon Motorworks is a Dodge Viper based machine and as such the overall shape is shared between the two vehicles. The Devon GTX is intended as a pure driver oriented vehicle which fuses simplicity, functionality and beauty.Among the most striking visible features are the wheel surrounds over both the front and rear wheels which are finished in a different color to the rest of the body. The interior of the Devon GTX uses the old adage of "less is more" in its design philosophy. The clean and simple dashboard underlines this theme. The Devon Motorworks GTX is scheduled to be revealed at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours.
The hot-rod version of the new-for-2008 CTS is powered by a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 putting out 556 horsepower and 551 lb-ft of torque. While the previous CTS-V was only available with a manual transmission, the new CTS-V offers the buyer a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions. The specially-tuned suspension features Magnetic Ride Control, a brilliant technology (already in use on the Chevrolet Corvette and Buick Lucerne) that allows near-instant changes in shock absorber behavior.
The Continental Flying Spur (sedan) gets mild tweaks to its front and rear fascias, revised suspension settings, optional carbon-ceramic brakes and a new dynamic cruise control system. An exclusive Naim stereo joins the options list, as does a full-width back seat with electrically adjustable outer sections. The new Flying Spur Speed model gets the same treatment as last year's Continental GT (coupe) Speed model, with a 600 horsepower 12-cylinder engine.
The TTS is the new high-performance version of the TT. It will be available as a coupe or a convertible. It features a special high-performance version of the turbocharged 2.0T engine, with output raised to 265 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Audi's S-Tronic transmission (also known as the direct-shift gearbox) and Quattro all-wheel-drive are standard
Acura's largest car gets a makeover for 2009. No, the RL still doesn't have a V8, but it does get a bigger V6 (3.7 liters and 300 horsepower) coupled to a standard all-wheel-drive system. The exterior has been updated and the interior gets a once-over, with more room for back seat passengers and -- I'm quoting from the press release -- "easier-to-use front seat belts".
